US interest in Agritechnica

Agritechnica 2009 previewed at Ag Media Summit in Texas

Over 300,000 specialist visitors flocked to the last edition of Agritechnica, the world’s biggest agricultural machinery exhibition held in Hanover, Germany two years ago. Just under 3300 of these experts were from North America – an increase of 60 percent on the previous event.

This year, the biennial event with almost 2,000 exhibitors registered already including every important manufacturer from the sector worldwide is attracting even more interest from crop and farm equipment experts in the USA.

“Agritechnica 2009 is still some months ahead but already we have an exciting increase in enquiries from North American professionals planning to travel over to the show,” says Annette Reichhold, marketing manager for North America. “Top producers of farm equipment and hi-tech crucial for increased efficiency time their new products and innovations to coincide with Agritechnica. They know that the decision-makers of global agricultural are there: experts in cropping, advisory work, finance and processing from more than 80 countries,” adds Reichhold.

US farmers are among the world’s most important crop producers - and share this abiding interest in identifying the latest technology trends for improved cultivating, seeding, crop protection and harvesting. That’s why their visitor numbers to Agritechnica continually grow. And why DLG once again presents a special preview of the event at the USA’s Ag Media Summit in Texas, the largest gathering of crop and livestock media professionals in the U.S. The Ag Media Summit this year takes place in Fort Worth, Texas.1-5 August 2009 with the Agritechnica preview in booth #7.

Agritechnica takes place in Hanover, Germany, November 10-14, (preview days: Nov. 8 and 9) and presents the latest in crop growing efficiencies with a world-beating range of machinery, extra equipment and spare parts. In a special event new this year called World Soil and Water Show Agritechnica features solutions in environment-friendly soil and water saving methods with advice, exhibits and still more specialised technology. Agritechnica 2009 includes other new features: a summit conference on China as well as a conference on international agri-markets 2010 plus an exhibition focus on energy crop. The international young farmer conference is again highlighted at the event and the issues of climate change, global warning and environment damage will also be addressed. 

Agritechnica is the world’s largest agricultural machinery and innovations exhibition. Held in Hanover, Germany every two years, the event is organised by the DLG and attracts over 300,000 visitors from all over the globe. Both farmers and the trade view Agritechnica as the place where major agricultural developments make their debut. In addition to the full range of machinery exhibits, this year’s event focuses particularly on the rapidly developing areas of climate change, soil conservation and water shortage. As well as top-flight forums held by world agricultural experts, the Hanover exhibition not only premiers world agricultural technology but also offers the world’s best insight the spare parts trade.
